I help individuals, family members, and organizations remember—and become more of—who they really are so they can make their best contribution to the well-being of us all.
I call this “bringing forth the human soul at work.”
My work is grounded in three principles:
- We create out of who we are.
- Work is a spiritual journey.
- We are whole, interconnected beings.
At its core, my work is about helping people—individually and collectively—discover, claim, and live out their true identity, their True Selves.
My services tend to overlap. Vocational coaching often goes hand in hand with spiritual direction or work on family dynamics. A business owner or executive director may call me in to work on strategy or organizational design and in the process, we’ll address his or her vocation or family dynamics.
My ultimate goal is to help my clients live whole, healthy lives in the grace of God.
Family Business / Business Family Coaching and Consulting
Owning and operating a business introduces complexity to the family dynamic and vice versa. How do we make wise decisions both for our family and our business in light of these complexities?
Continuity, Succession, and Letting Go
Succession planning is not just a legal process; it’s an emotional process. How do we manage the health and well-being of both the family and the business for the long term?
Organizations are not static; changing conditions can mean changing the structure. How can we best organize ourselves to get work done efficiently and productively?
Organizational Culture and Climate
Nobody wants to hate getting up and going to work. How can we be intentional about how we get things done (our culture) and how it feels to work here (our climate)?
We want to feel good about what we’re doing and how we’re doing it. So we have to ask ourselves, where are we headed? What kind of future are we building?
It is not unusual for me to work alongside or at the request of a trusted advisor to a business family, such as an accountant, attorney, wealth advisor, or family confidante.
Different from job coaching (similar role, different company) or career coaching (different field altogether), vocational coaching helps you discover, claim, and live out your “life’s work.”
Spiritual direction, or “holy listening” as it is sometimes called, is the art of spiritual companionship. Individuals seeking spiritual direction want someone to listen alongside them as they seek spiritual growth, discern direction, or explore life’s unanswerable questions.
Personal or professional Sounding Board
Sometimes we just need someone to confide in, to brainstorm with, to test ideas on. People call on me for perspective, insight, wisdom, and common sense.
I am a gifted editor and enjoy working with selected authors on unique projects. I excel at helping authors express their True Self through their writing and other forms of creative expression. Sometimes this bleeds over into working with organizations on how they communicate who they are and what they do.
