Family Systems Coaching and Consulting

Family Dynamics

Owning and operating a business introduces complexity to the family dynamic and vice versa. How do we make wise decisions both for our family and our business in light of these complexities? How do we create healthier emotional space so we can work well together?

Continuity, Succession, and Letting Go

Business succession is not just a strategic process; it’s an emotional process. How do we manage the health and well-being of both the family and the business for the long term? How do we know when—or if—we or our successor is ready for what’s next?

Executive Coaching and Leadership Development

Family systems coaching is a specialized form of executive coaching and leadership development. The patterns you’ve learned in your immediate and extended family have shaped you. Through family systems coaching, you will learn about and begin to work with these automatic patterns. You will grow your capacity to lead in ways that will promote the health and well-being of you, your family, and the organization(s) of which you are a part.

Vocational Coaching

Different from job coaching (similar role, different company) or career coaching (different field altogether), vocational coaching helps you discover, claim, and live out your “life’s work.”

Spiritual Direction

Spiritual direction, or “holy listening” as it is sometimes called, is the art of spiritual companionship. Spiritual direction offers peace and comfort as individuals seek spiritual growth, discern direction, or explore life’s unanswerable questions.

I’m Sara Huron—coach, consultant, spiritual director. I blog about things that intrigue me: organizational behavior, leadership, complexity, who we are and who we are becoming, and other topics. I offer coaching, consulting, and Christian spiritual direction to individuals and organizations who are interested in exploring and applying these ideas in their own context.

Why Sara?

Sara helped me to understand why there were underlying issues in our organization and opportunities for improvement. We worked to understand how I fit into the structure and how I could have the greatest impact. I learned something new every time I met with Sara. She led me to understand how to find purpose in my company, in my team, and in myself.

I’ve been meeting with Sara since around 2012. What’s been helpful is she asks questions that make you think, that you sit with, and if you answer on the surface level, she’ll ask another to hit the root. She helps guide but gives room for you to discover yourself.

She doesn’t lead; she offers direction, offers guidance, but allows you to discover your own path. She picks up on what you don’t say and helps you dig out ideas and lets them be your own.

After meeting with Sara, I’m left feeling encouraged and charged, ready to take action to take the next steps.
